t5 turbo lag and torque steer....

Regarding the GLT (97 and up), the power is more than adequate. The truth of the matter is even with the low-pressure turbo, which I drive, I find myself making quick use of the "lagless" turbo whenever I need that extra jump while catching a yellow light or even something more dramatic like passing a semi on a 2 lane road... No time for turbo-lag when you have an oncoming car 100 yards ahead!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my car. For your wife, I think the GLT is the best choice; any more power and you're just looking for speeding tickets.. The Glt's power comes when and where she'll need it most as opposed to the Higher Pressure turbos which would lag for a second or two before kicking in.. But boy do they kick in!! Personally I would rather have an R... But I have no kids and no concept of what too fast means. Like I said before. The GLT's boost comes gradually when you hit the pedal, not 2 seconds later in a blaze of torque steering glory. Although it is not as hard as a push as the high-pressure turbos, I believe that unless your wife plans on racing other cars on the drive home, she will not miss the added HP that the GLT lacks. Go with the GLT.
God I wish I had an R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
