We own a 95 855 GLT and a 98 S70 T5M. The 70 series has a softer
ride but is still plenty stiff. The 855 is very stiff and can be
very harsh crashing through small pot holes. On the 855 I can feel
cross walk painted markings as the car drives over them. I think wagons
make it seem harsher since they have a more rattles then the sedans.
The 70 series is a big improvement (but it is still not at all soft,
call it just right).
Also, the GLTs and T5s have a stiffer suspension then the base models.
I don't know how a GLE compares to GLT/T5/Turbo model suspensions. I
have driven a base model 70 series rental and it felt kind of mushy
(could have been the tires, too).
