Advice: How do I deal with this case 850 1993

If I were you, I'd start mildly...but be prepared to fight like the devil himself. That might mean you hire an attorney. You'd have to determine whether the fault was in the workmanship (mechanic's fault) or the belt (manufacturer's fault). You might also check on whether your insurance covers this under your "comprehensive" policy.

In the event it was poor workmanship, your mechanic might be willing to install a used engine. Be prepared to be creative...mechanics aren't rich.

Did you keep your paperwork? Did he give you your old belt back? (I always ask for my old parts back, unless there's a core charge.)
