You might also want to go to the library and check out the April 2002 "New Car Issue" of Consumer Reports which contains their recommendations, frequency of repair charts and a list of used cars recommended and their "Used Cars to Avoid" list. I believe there's even a Consumer Reports "Used Cars" special on the newsstands right now.
"T5" means "turbocharged 5", at one point it became declasse' to boldly place a "Turbo" badge on the tailgate, so they switched the nomenclature. "R" means "racing" and these are actually very nicely outfitted turbos with larger wheels, suspension upgrades and nicer upholstery. "Sportswagon" doesn't necessarily mean anything, except, I suppose, that it's a sporty wagon, kinda like the "sports" in SUV I guess. I've seen the badges on turbos and non-turbos. It's supposed to bring back thoughts of the old 1800ES sports car, I think.
