I remember reading in consumer reports that the optima batteries were about the same as others like Sears, Delco etc. They did not test the battery for the 850. There was no hard rule which they found to be the best. Sometimes a cheaper battery performed better than the same brands more expensive one. There was no consistency in batteries. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.
