Mr. rjekelis/Rick850R,
You wrote "If someone were considering the purchase of a car which got 3 miles to the gallon, would you simply say, "All in all I would not let gas mileage be a factor against purchasing this vehicle."
Terrible, faulty analogy.
followed by "FACT: the Volvo 850 has a below average reliability record (Consumer Reports annual car buying guide)."
Fact: I do use Consumer Reports as a guidline, but only that. See the following link: http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=4733
and: "Take that below average rating and multiply it by the VERY high cost of parts and repair, and you have a recipe for a poor buying decision."
I have not experienced this very high cost of parts and repair. Factory parts and factory repair costs are on par with what I pay to have my Ford fixed.
followed by: "You may have been one of the lucky ones who have not had the reams and reams of maintenance issues that the most of us have had. But to me, the consumer reports ratings say it all about 850 reliability--it is simply, factually, below average."
Why would you ever keep possesion of a vehicle that requires reams and reams of maintenance? I would sell the car if I had these problems. Why don't you [just remember to give full disclosure to your buyer :) ]
Your next brilliant message stated: "You're upset....for what reason?- because what I said is true, and you don't like it. Wah."
No, I am not upset by what you said. You are allowed to have your own opinion, but it is just that. Clearly the majority of owners are pleased with their cars, too bad you are not. The "Wah" remark is just infantile.
Lastly you stated; "Prove me wrong" and "Get over it"
I just did, and yes I am now over it.
