For 98's there is also a TSB to replace the clutch pedal
spring. This is to make it easier to engage. I've never done
that myself so I can't comment on how well it works. The
revised spring might have been placed in production on 99's.
If you have alldata subscription you could check on that as
one possible improvement. The TSB is titled
"Clutch Pedal - Revised Auxiliary Spring" and is dated July 1999.
TSB number is 4410004.
Described as:
>This Service Bulletin describes how to replace the existing, linear auxiliary >spring with a progressive auxiliary spring.
>This spring will provide smoother engagement of the clutch
I dount this applies to your 99, but thought I'd mention it.
And yep, my throw-out bearing (98 T5M) squeels about 30% of the
time in first gear starts and sometimes I can even hear it on 2nd
and 3rd gear shifts.
