When I started to do the belt on my '98 S70 at 78k miles, I saw some evidence of leakage, so I changed the pump. It probably would have been OK, but it was just $40 and a couple of hours more work to replace it. The shop will recommend the pump change "while they're at it" and if money is not too tight it's probably a good idea.
