Just to expand Ken's answer a little: If your transmission fluid has been changed before and just not documented, you definitely want to keep up with the maintenance and not take a chance. One point of disagreement in the other posts on changing transmission fluid is changing from dino to synthetic on a transmission with higher mileage. I changed mine ('94 w/75,000 when I bought it) to Mobil One and have had no problems, but others claim it is not a good idea to switch to synthetic. More choices to make.
