When should you replace the water hoses on an 850?' 850 1996

If you drop the lower black color air damn/shroud you can
see the lower hose. It comes off with two 10mm bolts on
either side. Clips hold it at the front. Takes 2 minutes
and I'm pretty sure you can easily see the lower hoses
with it off.

As far as when to replace: I don't really know.
