The driving (source) impedance of all power amps I've ever seen is very low compared to the load, i.e. the situation is not one of matched impedance. Unless the amp's design is very unusual, the 4 or 8 ohm load would make no difference to the amp - but the old and new speakers might be very different in efficiency and sound quality.
