The people I know all love being American citizens and would rather live in Texas than Mexico. What they resent is that they are treated like "wet backs" by the "red necks". Even my nephew calls them "democrats", as a derogatory name.

In France, no one has a hyphenated name regarding place of birth. There are no African-French, no Algerian-French, no English-French. They are all French, period.

There should not be any Texicans, American-Mexicans, etc. Just Texans.

Of course, there is a national problem. Americans can infer anyone living between Prudhoe Bay and Tierra Del Fuego.
