Welcome citizen, to the USA.

The immigration system is broken, as you know better than most.
I always say that when Republican and Democrats are in agreement in Washington, the American people are about to get screwed. ( Or it is time to give themselves a raise.)
They have allowed massive illegal immigration for 40 years, to drive down middle class wages. Now, the Democrats have realized most will stay poor and vote Democrat. So they want more. The Republicans mostly still want to drive down wages, and are terrified of being called racists. So they want more.

No nation should have open borders. Unless you want to cease to exist.
Ask Mexico about Texas, or native Americans about Europeans.
