Hi Mort,
"Oleseahorse has been at this point before.".
Yup, that I have. Fortunately, even at my advanced age, I do recall something awry with the delay relay for the courtesy light that was draining my battery. Replacement of the delay relay was the fix. I believe my workaround was eliminating the entire circuit for the courtesy lights altogether. That worked OK for a while, until holding the glovebox flashlight got to be a bother.
I do also remember tearing the door apart to check for a power drain to no avail. I think I was just practicing my skills in seeing how rapidly I can take the door panels off to access the green/black/red plug. Nothing there though.
I think the delay relay is clipped to the brake pedal, up high. Take the bolster off and fiber panel off, lay down under the instrument cluster and look carefully.
I think it was a square brass-looking unit.
