I will have my fuel guage sender/pre-pump assembly out in the near future (waiting for parts). I figure while I have it out, I will test the pre-pump, just to be sure it's okay before reinstalling. Is it alright simply to hook it up directly to the battery? I can't do the simple test of listening to it while it is in place, as the connector is sheared off flush with the top of the tank bung (that's why I'm doing the work in the first place).
