Definitive answer...B20 Valves 140-160

Hi All,

The head on the B20E in my 122 has some worn guides and should probably get a basic rebuild if not a thorough warming up. I've got a head from a '75 B20F sitting here. I don't have the B20E head off just yet and I don't really want to pull it right away, if I don't have to.

The question is; are there any advantages to using a '75 head? Bigger valves? Ports? Compression isn't so much a concern as I will mill the head to whatever spec I need.

The plan is to run relatively high compression for now with a fairly aggressive cam on whichever head is best for this application.

The next edition will sport an Eaton M62 supercharger with an 8-bolt crank and B21FT pistons and rods. The head will receive a substantial amount of work but that's not for a couple of years down the road.

For now I want to get a head and cam in the car as painlessly as possible but also want to make the right choice of head...

Thanks,
Dale
