544 Igntion Problem 444-544

Unfortunately the '65 - 544 I recently bought didn't have any keys. I'd like to see if I can start it but I can't get at the ignition switch to hot wire it. Can anyone tell me how to hot wire it to start from the engine compartment?

Also, I've run across three 544s with aftermarket (universal) switches and seen several on eBay. They all have a regular ignition switch but they also have a push button for the starter, usually placed in what was the cigarette lighter housing. Was there a problem with the OEM switches?

Any help on starting without a key would be greatly appreciated.
