Tonight I finally got all the little jobs done on the the car and managed to fire it up. There were the usual silly things like a distributer that was in backwards (does everyone do this at least once) and a few fuel leaks. But it finally fired and all seems well so far. I ran it at 2000 rpm for around 20 mintues (in 5 - 10 min bursts) bliping the throttle to break in the cam. Seems fine. Now I need to get the carbs set. The HIF's are a little different than what I'm use to and the manual's setting for the base line pretty rich (2.5 turns down with the jet once level). I've got some dieseling problems now with a fuel surge on shut down. Is that likely to be the float level or it being too rich?
Now on with the show. I don't know if I can embed YouTube video's, but here goes nothing. In the first video, what you mostly hear is my monster 16" e-fan - I hot wired it to keep it going while I was running in the cam.
