The fuel only leaks when I shut it off and it's dieseling away - then it is coming out the vent.
Once they diesel, the fuel floats have no hope in controlling the fuel level.
I'll pull the distributor and see what's up there.
After you clean, replace shims & grease the distributor, I'd bend the thick spring tab inwards a little, so that it never comes in to play, then make sure that the little spring has enough tension on it to hold the advance to zero a couple of hundred rpms above what you want the engine to idle at so that you can set it to a solid 10 degrees or less at idle.
