You could rig up a gravity feed and run it off that. Have you had a fuel pressure gauge in the line from the pump to the carbs? The feed valve in the pump sets the pressure but you can't check it if it's a sealed unit. The old glass topped AC ones seem to be best if in good order. It really only needs about 1.5psi.
Don't know if there's a source over there but these are good.

Fit with the pump body parallel to the ground and not vertically which would seem to be the logical way.
