I wish Volvo oil filters came with flats formed on them because the oil filter removal/installation tools I prefer are the socket type.
The tool I have now for Volvos is a band of stainless steel about 2" wide with a square drive on the side. I think it was made by Cal-Van and it certainly works well enough. . . once it is in place. It doesn't distort the oil filter, but it sure takes a bit of gymnastics to use it. Also, with an oil pressure sender in place, the task is even harder.
So, 240 diehards, what type of oil filter wrench is your favorite?
Thanks, one and all,
Rich
