I will be installing a "new" engine (1988) sometime in the next few months into my '86 sedan (NA). It has about 150K miles on it now with no known issues in the past. While it's on the engine stand and out of the car, should I go ahead and pull the head and get it inspected and machined if necessary as a preventitive measure? I have someone who can do it for a reasonable price. What else should I have done to the head while it's out if I should go that route?
I will be doing a mini rebuild with all new gaskets and seals, pulling the oil pump, cleaning it and replacing its seals too along with all new sensors, etc.
Thanks in advance.
