Cam and carb advice please. 444-544

After a long idle period ( caused by life,apathy and Alfa Romeo's ) enthuisiasm for the PV project has returned.
I have an Alfa GTV circuit racing car, a soon to be ready Alfa Berlina shopping/competition car, I want a quietish cruising PV. I want to run on skinny 165 tyres.
I have a 2.2litre short block ready, B20B head with 44mm valves.
I am thinking single carb - do I use Stromberg or SU?
Is the A cam the best choice or with the bigger motor should I use something else?
PS despite having 4 Alfas the PV is still my favourite and the hobby car I would keep to the end.
