Hi Ron,

Yup, dashpots are filled and feel like they damp properly. I used a special mystery 'SU carb dashpot oil' of unknown viscosity that I happened to pick up a while back for my Triumph (also has dual HS6 carbs).

I'm thinking the one place I haven't looked yet was the carb floats. Maybe a low level there could be causing lean running and that combined with a timing issue....
