Computer trouble's 200 1989

Yes, you have the computer with the bad reputation. Especially if it is the 561 with the pink label. The white label 561s are supposed to be better and the 951 is the respected replacement. But I have seen many pink label 561s still going strong and personally, I think the bad ones all died over ten years ago and the remaining ones are OK (other brickboarders will disagree). A used 951 will cost something like $80 on eBay. But I wouldn't buy an ECU without first checking out some other things.

When those computers do go bad, you lose ground to the fuel pump relay. You can check that with a multimeter. My first guess is that you do have some kind of a fuel problem, but probably elsewhere. Read the 700/900 FAQ under SELECT LINK and then FEATURES above. In the fuel injection section (you have Bosch LH 2.4) there you should find out how to listen to find out if the fuel pumps are running, how to diagnose a bad fuel pump relay, etc.

I bought my '89 with 132K and not running (bad AMM) for $800 and have been very happy with it.
