Good story. We think that -40 is dangerously cold here, which is handily the same number in either F or C system, and a good thing, given our Swedish heritage and cognitive ability. ;-)

My Texas friend, Alan Humphreys, one busy and bright guy, similarly told of lighting a scrap-wood fire under a tank to vaporize the fuel. It was some cheaper BUtane, up one from propane's 3 carbons to 4, so heavier, and failing to gasify in what would pass for balmy cool in Minnesota.

My jaw kinda dropped.
