Jarrod; I take it you know lots about 40 below zero weather? 6 months of the year?
I assume you have a block heater or three in your car? If so, and your vehicle is tuned properly, you should have zero false starts, with or without the heater chimney and heat riser valve. The car should start immediately and keep running with no stalling. Trust me. 45 years in Northern Canada. However, you are correct in that the eventual warmed air from the manifold will make it run smoother with less emissions sooner.
