There is no question that you are better off staying with fuel injection.
Whether to replace or repair parts of the D jet system to make it work right, or to just replace the ECU, wiring and sensors with modern components such as Megasquirt or Simple Digital Systems, is another question. If any significant parts of the D jet system need replacing, you would almost certainly be better off up grading, rather than replacing parts.
