240 System Relay Problem 200 1984

My Volvo is back on the road thanks to Art's expertise! Here is an overview of the cause and repair.

It appears the boot on the wiper arm shaft came out and allowed water to enter the system relay and cause it to fail. The points were loose inside the relay and I belive that when I moved the relay about these loose parts came into contact with the incoming 12 volts and the yellow/red wire that goes to the Jetronic (ECU). This caused the transistor T-305 to open (fail). Once I found this problem, with Art's help, the fix was easy. A trip to the electronics store for the transistor ($1.59) and we are back on the road. This car is ready for another 190K.
