Regina problems 700 1990

Hello Roger:

Is the O2 sensor producing a signal? You can measure this at the connector near the firewall by pulling back the cover and measuring DC voltage after the car is warmed up. There is no need to separate the connector, just measure from the connector to a good ground. You should see oscillations from around 0.15-0.9V with a frequency of around once per second or so.

I presume you mean Techron...

A bad fuel pressure regulator can cause the 02 sensor to stay pegged at either extreme. If you pull the vacuum line off the FPR do you smell or see gas in the line? A bad FPR can cause hard starting too. Unless you have the apparatus to measure fuel pressure it is often cheaper to replace it than to pay labor to have it measured...

The other likely candidate is a coolant temperature sensor that is bad and causing the system to run rich.

Good luck!
