Mann oil filter -- it should have a non-return valve. I have started driving as gently as possible during warm up after reviewing your fine article on choking. :-)

Is it highly unlikely that an exhaust leak would seal itself up under thermal expansion?

This brings me to another question. My place of work is a block and a half from the highway. Is it better to idle in the parking lot until the temperature gauge starts showing some life, or just hit the highway? The on-ramp is a long one so there is no need to floor the accellerator to merge in traffic.
