That thing's CLEAN! About letting it warm up a bit before hopping on the highway, I wouldn't really worry about it, unless you're going to start cruising above maybe 3000rpm or maybe 3500rpm off the bat. What oil do you use? What temperature is it where you are?

And, here's my thinking of the problem... The starter! There have been a couple of cars at my work recently with noises at startup. Can't really explain what's happening, but it's not a good sounding noise. Doesn't happen all the time, and yeah. My dad's X/19 is doing it, only when first being started up and cold.

That's what I think the possible problem is, but I really don't know. Just another specific thing to look into. Good luck!
