TIming belt sounds most likely.
As noted, look for the timing belt through the oil cap.
I would check spark by taking the coil wire off the dist cap- stick the end somewhere near the left hood hinge. That way you can see it from the driver's compartment.
Keep in mind with the crank triggered engine, you CAN still get spark even with a bad timing belt.
If belt and spark are good, try a new fuel pump relay.
