Cause of ODB Code 231 (LH 2.4)? 700

Hello All,

What would cause the "231" FI code to pop up on my Bosch LH 2.4 obd. After checking the FAQ which indicates Lean or Rich at part load, I am still curious as to what defective sensors/parts might cause me this grief. I am thinking it might be my O2 sensor, TB cleaning required, vaccum leak??

Parts swapped or replaced recently:

IAC (used but cleaned)
AMM
ECU
NEW Fuel Filter & Regulator
Spark Plugs/Wires
Adj. TPS
BG44k through the gas tank

Thanks in advance,

Tim and 1989 740GL beast

PS Curiously enough, the check engine light never comes on with the 231 code, just lumpy idle and 16mpg in the city to alert one that things are not normal.
