I've found that the little tab George writes of doesn't do a hellovalot... and will yield on its own when juditious leverage is applied to the lower edge (only) of the wiper arm, where it is pressed onto the swaged-on bushing(that is what the special tool Cam writes of does) ...DO NOT LEVER OFF THE SWADGED-ON BUSHING!! ...I usually just use a large flatbladed screwdriver and my hand as the fulcrum. Cover the area with a large towel to protect the area...when it pops off, it may launch, unless you place a rag over the arm also to control this.
When the swadged-on bushing comes unswadged your kindof out of luck, unless you can figure out how to swage it back on...this happened to me...my solution was to drill/tap the post and hold the wiperarm on with a SS screw...but this is a last resort. Like this:
