Well I solved the problem yesterday. Thanks to all of you for your help. Turns out it was a positive battery cable with a lot of resistance. I used the ol' jumper cable bypass method that was suggested and sure enough the car started to turn right over. I had previously cleaned up the ground cable and the battery end of the positive cable.
And I took the car for its first run of the season after the cable was replaced and everything tied down correctly. Nice to get into the old beast again. Did notice that is seemed a little wimpy -power wise- after having driven our every day cars all winter. Guess its time I put that B20 together for the car.
Thanks again for your help...and Mark Heyburn--good to hear from you.
