Restricting steering angle 444-544 1965

From page 11 of Part 6 (Front Axle and Steering Gear) of the factory manual for the PV444, 445, 544, and P210, printed in 1964:

"The turning circle is approx. 9.8 - 10.8 metres (34' 2" - 35' 5") depending on the vehicle model and steering gear."

Interesting that the R&T road test data shows 32 feet for the 544, and 36 feet for the 444. You have to wonder how they came up with those numbers, but I would assume they were actually measured; R&T always seemed to be quite picky about their road test data.

But back to our comparison... the factory manual for the 140 shows all models (142, 144, 145) with a turning circle of 9.25 m (30' 4"). FWIW, R&T road test data agrees in this case.

Bottom line? With both in stock configuration and proper adjustment, a 140 does indeed turn considerably shorter than a 544.
