Red Tek 12a for the a/c?

Hello Bill:

In my mind it is not worth switching to R12a FROM r134a-- it is a blend and tends to bleed out various components at different rates, causing performance to suffer (the sealer was used in my '89 760GLE-- it still leaked slowly)-- been there, done that!

If you have already been converted, then what I would do is to fix your leak, swap the orifice valve for a VOV for r134a, add a new accumulator, drain the compressor, refill with oil and then have it vacuumed down and filled with r134a. If you end up needing hoses, e-bay has them at "buy now" prices that are 1/3 of Canadian dealer price, and our dollar is on a 28 year high...

Good luck!
