Red Tek 12a for the a/c?

Thanks. I had most of the a/c plumbing and such replaced a few years ago. I think only the compressor and evaporator were not replaced. $1500 (ouch). The year after that, it wasn't blowing very cold so I went back to the indy who said he was out of the a/c business and gave me the brush off. I wish my a/c was as cold as him. Needless to say, I am done with him. You may know him - no names but think Hwy 6 just north of Hwy 5.

I have had it pass a leak test since then (that was not cheap either) but it still needs a top up every year or two. Since I travel through the US once in a while, I just drop in to Walmart and get a can of R123a. Not a big deal. If the R12a made sense I would switch but it sounds like I had better steer clear. Thanks again.

Bill
