electrical problem 120-130 1964

Joey;

It sounds like a poor connection (possibly burned open by a shorting out the battery power terminal (30) at the back of IGN SW) at either the IGN SW or the Fuse 1 (or its terminals)...I suggest you arm yourself with an enlarged copy of the wiring diagram: http://www.sw-em.com/122S%20Wiring%20Diagram.jpg and a Voltmeter and start sniffing around, CAREFULLY, particularly at IGN SW and Fuseblock F1.

AMP indicator lights for one of two very different reasons: Blown fuse OR nonfunctional charging system...see also: http://www.sw-em.com/AMP_Indicator_ON.htm

...and at the risk of stating the obvious...next time you attack the instrument cluster, disconnect the battery...what did you think all those pretty colored wires back there were for...decoration?

Good Hunting!
