Help! No start ! 200

I have a 1990 240dl and over the last few months It has been starting wierd. It cranks a bit then it would bind and not crank like a bad spot on a starter. After a few tries the car would start and start up fine while hot. I changed the starter but that was not the problem it still starts like this. Now It is doing the same thing but will not start and run . It will almost start and stumble really really bad like it almost not even running and die out. Giving some gas while it is stumbling will do nothing? Help please I have this car stuck in the driveway. Any ideas very welcome. Thank You
