740 acceleration problem - Timing Off ??? 700

The timing belt, tensioner, and oil seals need to be changed on this car. I might do that next weekend and see what happens. The upper timing gear cover was off when I got the car. Did you just move the cam gear one tooth in either direction? I'll put the new belt on first, then try moving it one tooth in each direction. I wouldn't think that it could be off anymore than one tooth though. Yeah, this one idles around 1000 rpm.
