Actually, when I went to that article you cited, in Rolling, I expected it would be mine. I do remember that other one that you cited, published in '95, but it was seven years later than my own article in Rolling,
Sep/Oct 1987, pg 7
in which I explained how to actually convert an ordinary parking light (with a single contact in the double filament socket) into DRLs by adding the second filament; and how to use relays to act as a control to light up DRLs when the headlights or parking lights are off.
