Does changing Dwell effect mileage? 140-160

Okay. As the points wear (the rubbing block against the dist shaft, and metal transfers from one point electrode to other) the point gap lessens. This increases dwell. Ie. the smaller the point gap, the larger the dwell. And results in less precise firing and burns?

So are you saying a larger dwell (eg. 60) gives poorer mileage than a smaller dwell (eg. 50) when the timing (eg. 10) is the same?

But, the first 2 sentences of your second paragraph appears to negate this.
