These trannies are pretty durn strong and will normally take some abuse-but they have to be maintained and not by the standards that were stated by Volvo with lifetime fluid as their indicator. Have you changed the fluid over to Mobil 1 synthetic fluid? If not that would be the first thing to do if it were mine. You can read the how to's in the faq's on the procedure-your tranny will shift so smooth you won't beleave it.
