Keep the camera rolling, and call the local news. Get your neighbors to do it too. Once you've got it on video, coordinate with the news and police. News stations love this kind of thing.
If they apprehend them, you'll likely get reimbursed for both the damage to the 544 and the cost of installing surveillance equipment.
Though I like the rock salt pellets idea. A lot. That doesn't fly in California. Blast one of those suckers and their parents will sue you into the next lifetime no matter how much property damage they've let loose. And then their friends will come around and set your house on fire.
Nice expensive homes and well off neighbors seem to breed the most malignant, corrupt, retarded children. I'm far less at ease walking streets in my Mom's neighborhood at any time than the Tenderloin in San Francisco at 3am and have experiences to substantiate that feeling.
Get the neighbors aware, get them on tape. If I was entrepreneurial I would film the Citroen 24/7, that car endlessly molested by strangers.
