Hello--my 544 has an amplifier in the trunk, and a long wire from the iPod's output straight into the amp. Control volume using the iPod's controls, no radio or head unit cluttering up your dash. Not to give away all my secrets, but an iPod dock will also fit into your ashtray...best, Nathan
