Greasing the PV 444-544

"I'd think there must be some kinda rubber caps that would work."

Some polyethylene caps for the purpose are McmasterCarr (www.mcmaster.com)pt# 1098K14 (Red). Also available in blue, green, black, white and yellow.

I use them on a surface grinder, which is a very dusty, dirty environment and they do a great job of keeping dust off the fittings.

One way to check your fittings is to take them out, attach the grease gun and try to pump grease through them. It'll let you know exactly how much of a restriction is caused by the fitting.
