You could remove the grease fitting, wash it out with carb cleaner and then put it in the end of your grease gun. Pump grease through it against a bit of mesh or a couple of layers of cloth. As posted, replacing the grease fittings won't break the bank. Front suspension greasing intervals are every 750 miles. I wonder how many get that much TLC!
