If rusty balls in the fittings isn't your problem... 444-544

Bob,

I think I understand now.

Just the inner upper control arms? Curiousity got the better of me, so I tried to lube mine and No Go as well (didn't trying heating anything first). Maybe those zircs are superficial?

I know when we put the front end together, not too long ago (2005), we were able to get grease through the zircs you mention, and it squeezed out of the rubber seals nicely, but the control arms were off the car at that point, in a vice, and Carlos was ratcheting the control arm up and down rapidly in between attempts at lubing them.

By this logic, you'll need to take your car out to a real bumpy road, drive like mad then quickly pull over and put a shot of grease in each zirc. :)

The steel bushings do seem a rather tight fit when new, like Derek suggested. Maybe until you get some wear particles in there, acting like little ball bearings, the grease just won't go in. I kind of wonder if a shot of oil at this point wouldn't be better?

Belinda
